RICHMOND, Calif. - Californer -- Alten Construction (https://www.altenconstruction.com/), a full-service San Francisco Bay Area commercial construction company, recently welcomed Ryan Tobias to the family-owned construction firm.
With 20 years of experience in project and construction management, specifically in commercial, pharmaceutical, office and airport facilities, Tobias has a demonstrated record of success as a construction professional.
Most recently, he served as estimator and senior project manager at Z Squared Construction. During his time there, Tobias assembled and ran hard bid estimates, wrote contracts, created project schedules and assembled budgets, among other tasks. Prior to that, he was senior project manager at Dome Construction for nine years.
His vast project history over the course of his career includes Genentech's Building, Kahului International Airport, Pier 29 Container Shipyard, New Carquinez Bridge Replacement Project and other various building upgrade projects.

In his new role as senior project manager, Tobias will monitor job performance and budget targets, review and update project schedule, oversee and collaborate the activities of the project team to meet tight deadlines and develop customer relationships, among other duties.
Tobias holds a bachelor's of science degree in construction management, with a minor in business administration from California State University at Sacramento. He also possesses a number of certificates, including Army Corps of Engineers' Construction Quality Management for Contractors, Radiation Safety and Use of Nuclear Gauges from CPN International and Primavera P3 and P6 Scheduling, among others.
This year, Alten Construction also welcomed three other new employees to the team: Marc Moore, project engineer; Kevin Dunn, project engineer; and Lei Anne Pascua, project engineer. The commercial construction currently has over 100 employees.
