California: Governor Newsom announces appointments

He is also the Founder of the Central Valley Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives. Ellison earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Washington. His appointment does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation involved. Ellison identifies as a Democrat.

Mark Chase has also been reappointed to the State 9-1-1 Advisory Board, where he has served since 2023. Chase brings with him over two decades of experience in public safety communications, having worked as a Business Analyst for the City of Palo Alto since 2020 and holding various positions within the city since 2017. He is also a member of the California Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association. Chase holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Sociology from Ball State University. Like Ellison, his appointment does not require Senate confirmation or involve any compensation. Chase identifies as a Democrat.

The final appointment announced by Governor Newsom is Kurt Wallace, who has been reappointed to the State 9-1-1 Advisory Board since 2023. Wallace has been serving as the Police Communications Manager for the City of Anaheim since 2009 and has held various positions within the city since 1997. He also served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1990 to 1996. Wallace is a member of both the National Emergency Number Association and the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials – International. His appointment does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation involved. Wallace identifies as a Republican.
