Floor-to-ceiling windows from the promontory lot look out over Big Rock Reef and up to Windansea Beach
SAN DIEGO - Californer -- Willis Allen Real Estate, a leading luxury brokerage headquartered in La Jolla, Ca., announces Sea Spray, an exquisitely designed home resting on one acre of oceanfront land, by The Nelson Brothers team. The home is currently listed for $14,900,000.
"Sea Spray offers the rare combination of an oceanfront acre, mostly single-level living and incredible privacy located on one of La Jolla's best streets," said Tim Nelson of the Nelson Brothers team.
Designed by Frederick Liebhardt, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, is quoted in saying, "I like to think that things have a use. They should be useful and handsome in their usefulness." And Sea Spray certainly lives up to this expectation.
The four-bedroom, five-bath home is spread out across 6,338 square feet of space overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Located at 6266 Camina de la Costa, a premier street in La Jolla, the home also welcomes visitors with a stone staircase descending into the quarters. Engulfed in the ocean views, the ocean-facing façade offers a wall of windows wrapped in a teak deck. A central pool located in the middle of the home is protected from the ocean breeze.

"Sea Spray is true real estate gold. It is a large, over one-acre site, located on a promontory sitting forward of adjacent homes, affording it not only unbelievable ocean frontage but phenomenal white water views looking north up Windansea Beach," said Drew Nelson of the Nelson Brothers team.
Although Liebhardt's original vision is apparent in the design, updates have been made since construction in 1970. Henry Hester, one of San Diego's premier modernist architects, updated the design to match his "clean and straight" reputation of the time. Eddie Lee (New York) and Hill Construction updated the home most recently to create the inviting, interior-exterior flow that was a main driver of the original concept.
